My travel 2013

 Hey! I have't written anything last few weeks because I was a bit busy with my next trip organization. So I've decided to make a post about my trips in 2013. Why not? It's never too late!

 My travel 2013 (and 2013 in general) began in Istanbul. We met New Year in the underground and then went to eat kebab.

 I went to Budapest in January. I was lucky with the weather, it didn't snow at all. Only a little bit of rain.

And also I went to cute Szentendre. I only visited marzipan museum that time.

Then, three weeks later, I went on a short trip to Italy... I visited this beautiful country for the first time in my life. Thank you, Wizz Air for the cheap tickets. I fell in love with Venice. 

I went by train to Milan where I tried couchsurfing for the first time in my life and the tastiest pizza ever. 

 And then I was returning to Kiev via Budapest. I realised this was one of my favorite cities. In the early morning in February I was taking photos of the city coverd with snow. 

So I was in Ukraine untill late September. I only went to Cherkassy for one day in the middle of August. But in September it was my big Baltic trip. 

It began in Vilnius. A cozy city with really tasty food.

I also went to Trakai with my Mexican friends. I wanted to see this beautiful castle on an island:

I was really happy in Lithuania, this is definitely my country.

The next travel point was Tallinn via Riga. 

I wasn't really happy in Tallinn. But my eyes were. The old centre is stunning and so is the modern centre, and also the port. 

I went back to Riga after Tallinn and it was amazing. Actually I was in Riga in 2012, but I didn't see some important things. 

And the Dome wasn't under construction this time: 

I had such I wonderful time there. I met wonderful people. I made new friends. And then I went back to Vilnius. My Croatian friends who were travelling by car took me with them. 

The last few days I continued exploring Vilnius...

And also went to Kaunas.

And the next day I said Good bye to my wonderful Vilnius.

In October we went to Lviv and Chernivtsi to celebrate my birthday (to tell you the truth this was instead of our trip to Italy and Hungary which had been cancelled). 

My trip to Egypt in December was a group trip, but it was rather interesting. I ate tasty food, swam in the Red Sea, fell off a motorbike... Well, that's enough.

My travel 2014 will begin only in May with the trip to Hungary, Austria and Slovakia. 

Сербский. Первые впечатления

 Решила этот пост делать на русском, потому что особенности сербского/хорватского в данном контексте будут интересны именно носителям русского языка, а не англоязычным. На сербском пока не могу столько написать :)

Я немного некорректно обозвала данный пост, потому что это не совсем первые впечатления. Сербский/хорватский я учу уже далеко не в первый раз, но надеюсь, что этот раз будет наверняка.
 В этот раз я хотела учить именно хорватский, но у меня не получилось найти подходящее учебное пособие, зато нашла по сербскому. Учебник с коммуникативной методикой, где нет ни слова на русском, но мне и не нужно.
 Больше всего меня спасает второй родной язык - украинский. Как бы я догадалась, что Prisvojne zamenice - это притяжательные местоимения, зная один лишь русский? Но присвійний займенник пришел на помощь. Но вообще, конечно, нельзя сказать, что сербский очень похож на русский или украинский, это вообще не так.
 Что касается грамматики, у меня ощущение, что я снова на школьных уроках по родному языку. В сербском/хорватском есть падежи. У меня в тетради море табличек с номинативами, дативами и т.д. Но в целом падежи похожи на русские, есть только несколько исключений.
 После первого занятия слушала перед сном аудиоспектакль "Маленький принц". Поняла процентов 10-15 (средняя температура по больнице), что для родственного языка очень низкий процент. Маленького принца озвучивал ребенок с писклявым голосом, что очень мешало пониманию. Лучше всего (процентов на 85) понимала короля, которого озвучивал какой-то пожилой мужчина и очень растянуто говорил.
 Читать я умею уже давно, сейчас только работаю над тем, чтобы делать это быстрее.

 По моим ощущениям, для того, чтобы заговорить и выйти на уровень А2-В1, достаточно двух-трех месяцев регулярных занятий и практики в виде фильмов, книг, газет, написания писем и, конечно же, самого разговора. Говорить мне тут, в Киеве, не с кем, остальное всё решаемо.

О любимой песне и о любимом языке

 У меня сегодня не самый лучший день. И в ближайшие дни мне предстоит решать кучу проблем, которых могло и не быть. У моей страны сейчас не лучшие времена. Я сейчас живу не в лучших условиях. Но я верю, что это не насовсем. Что так будет не всегда.

 В одной из моих любимых песен как раз об этом и идет речь. Поэтому я сделала себе кофе послаще и сейчас поделюсь с вами музыкой, попрактикуюсь в переводе, а также немного помогу тем, кто начинает изучать испанский язык.

 Это песня великой кубинской певицы Селии Крус. Её уже нет в живых, но в испаноговорящем мире ее чтут и помнят - ведь это сама королева сальсы.

Una fecha importante y la paella

El jueves pasado mi novio y yo tuvimos una fecha muy importante y decidimos celebrarla en un restaurante español. No sabía que en Kíev había un restaurante de la cocina española, pero resultó que sí. Se llama "Bosaley" y está situado en la calle Zhilianskaya. Los pecios son bastante altos, pero tuvimos un discuento 50% que habíamos comprado en groupon.com.

No puedo decir que todo fue perfecto. Algunos platos fueron muy ricos, por ejemplo las tapas y la ensalada, pero la paella y el fondu de chocolate fueron okay pero nada más.

 Un dibujo en la pared

 El diseño en la sala donde nos sentamos fue un poco andaluz y me pareció bastante lindo, pero a mi novio no le gustó nada. Una pared tenía en dibujo sureño con muchísimas flores y la otra era pintada en color lila. Mi novio dijo que ese color no le despierte el apetito. 

A mí me pareció un bueníssimo fondo para un autorretrato

La ensalada que se llama "Ajo tomate" fue perfecta para mí y a mi novio le gustó también. No sé si esto plato existe en la cocina española, pero es totalmente perfecto - me gusta mucho la combinación de tomates, queso blanco y aceite de oliva.
También nos gustaron las tapas con tomates y mozzarella.

Tengo que decir que nunca había comido las tapas antes, entonces no puedo compararlas con las tapas auténticas en España. Espero que este año vos a comerlas en Andalucía o Madrid.

 La paella. Bueno, no fue una decepción total, pero en España he gustado una paella más rica y aún yo mismo la hago más rica. El arróz fue muy pegajoso y a nosotros nos gusta más desmenuzable.

Al menos se ve bien

 Y del postre pedimos el fondu de chocolate. Bueno, el chocolate fue rico. Pero el juego de la fruta no fue acertado - los plátanos, las uvas y las mandarinas. Todo sería bien si las uvas y mandarinas no tuvieran huesos. 

Nuestro camarero fue un becario y a veces se portó como un idiota, pero esta es una fruslería. Si yo tendría que estimar este restaurante, serán 7 de las 10.

P.D. Es mi primera entrada en español aquí, así que no me juzguen muy estrictamente, por favor. Las correcciones son muy importantes para mí, estoy segura de que he hecho muchas faltas.

A hello post

The time has come. I've created a language blog. Finally. I'm not even sure there will be any readers, but I was in desperate need of self expression, so here I am.

 So. My name is Helen. This blog is about languages. In different languages. You will be able to search for posts in particular language by tags. But this post, the first one, is in English because I still consider English an international language. English, not Chinese or Spanish.
 As you can see, English isn't my mother tongue and I make plenty of mistakes. But still, I hope my mistakes aren't such an obtacle to communication and I can be undestood quite well. My native language is Russian. The second one is Ukrainian which I can't call native although I've always had Ukrainian citizenship. I've learnt English since I was 4 or 5 and my big love with Spanish began when I was 14. I can't say I'm absolutely fluent in Spanish, but I can communicate, read modern books, understand Argentinean soap operas. In April 2013 I began learning Italian and I really enjoy studying this languages. At the moment my level is something between A1 and A2.
 Also I'm about to start Turkish, Serbian/Croatian and Polish, because I'd like to dilute the Roman group a little bit.

On this blog I'm going to write about different methods of learning languages and also I'm going to practice the languages I study which for me means writing about my everyday life in a chosen language.
